How the league works
Mystery scout visits
Trained scouts visit competing bars unannounced during off-peak hours. They identify themselves at the door, order three drinks off the menu, and score everything from the pour to the greeting.
Blind, weighted scoring
Every visit generates a score on a 0-10 scale across drinks, hospitality, decor, and speed. The formula is public. The ladder updates after every match.
A real playoff
Twice a year, borough divisions play out over a season. Top bars make the playoffs. One bar per season wins the title. Then everyone comes back in and does it again.
For bar owners and operators
Season 1 has 24 founding spots across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. No entry fee. The only ask is that you keep your published cocktail menu current and let a scout do their job when they show up.
